What’s your production process?

One size doesn’t always fit all. Therefore, I use both Waterfall and Agile methods in my production process, which is in line with my value of harmony and principles in Wayfinding.

Waterfall (Traditional)

  1. Discovery
  2. Strategy
  3. Design

This method is your most traditional. Everything is done upfront and there’s no real need for that much flexibility. This is essentially the pre-production stage.

Agile (Modern)

  1. Build
  2. Transfer

This is where things seem a bit uncomfortable at first, because it is a flexible approach that is catered to change. Things occur in a non-linear and non-iterative fashion, and is instead produced in terms of “cycles.” This allows for things to happen concurrently and constantly adapt to change because, let’s face it, who knows everything about what they want before they get to see it take shape? This would be your production stage.

How long will it all take?

On average, it takes around 4 weeks to complete a website. However, this time can be shorter or longer depending on the scope of the project.

What do I need to do to get started?

To make things easier, it’s usually best to get some details from you so I can understand exactly what you need. This is done in the form of a simple online survey, which should take you approximately 12 minutes to complete. Alternatively, you can contact me directly.

  • I will contact you within three business days to ask for further information
  • After this information has been received, I will provide you with a quote
  • If you agree to the quote, I’ll send you images of site designs for you to choose from
  • Once the site layout has been agreed upon, I’ll build your site

I’ll keep you posted throughout the development process so that you are happy with the way things are progressing. I usually do this by adding you to an online project management tool, which you will be given exclusive access to.

Do I need to setup anything or handle technical stuff?

Not unless you want to. I can manage everything for you from domain registration, to web-hosting and Content Management Systems (CMS). I can also submit your site to search engines and do some SEO tweaking for better search results. Your quote will address all these things.

Which Content Management System (CMS) do you use?

I choose to use WordPress with most of my clients. It may not be the best tool for every situation, but it’s the best tool for me and I am confident in working with it to adapt to your needs. It is a free, open-source CMS, which means less money for you, and greater flexibility for the future (since most web-designers and developers are familiar with it). This means that if, for any reason, we cannot work with each other, you will have no problems finding someone else to continue working on it, as it is a very popular CMS. (My hope, however, is that our relationship continues to blossom to the fullest!)

Can I edit content myself?

Of course! Since I predominantly work with WordPress, this means you can go in and fiddle around to your heart’s content. However, this assumes you have a basic or sound knowledge of WordPress itself. If you do not, I can provide some training for you for an additional fee.

What if I need help after the site is finished?

I can take care of such things for you at a rate of $50 per hour, or a negotiable bundle rate if you have large-scale updates, additions or changes in mind.

I have a question not addressed above.

Please contact me directly. Look forward to speaking with you!
